In 1955 Forrest E. Zeis opened Zeis Funeral Home on Detroit Ave. in Lakewood. Realizing a need for a comfortable, attractive facility dedicated to serving families that have lost a loved one, Forrest E. Zeis established a true home setting while not forsaking any of the modern amenities that provide comfort and convenience to families seeking refuge during their time of loss. In 1979 the mortuary was acquired by the McGreevey family.
