Law Offices of Heidi Klippel - an estate planning firm (trusts, wills, durable powers of attorney for financial affairs & health care directives)

The Law Offices of Heidi Klippel offers legal services in the area of estate planning. (Estate planning is the area of law where you prepare trusts, wills, durable powers of attorney for financial affairs and medical powers of attorney to protect you when you lose capacity and to keep your assets out of probate when you die.) We prepare estate plans, review estate plans and prepare amendments to estate plans. Our approach is very straight forward. We typically have two to three meetings. The initial meeting is the intake meeting. The intake meeting is where we explain how estate planning works, what the documents do and we ask questions so we know how to draft a client's estate plan. After the intake meeting, we draft the estate planning documents and email the drafts to our clients to review. Clients can email us changes if there are any revisions they want made. The next meeting is a review meeting to discuss the drafts and answer questions. The final meeting is the signing and notary meeting where the documents are executed. After the signing meeting, we give our clients their original estate planning documents. We also give our clients "homework". The purpose of the homework is to provide our clients with a step by step written instruction as to how to update title to their assets and beneficiaries to ensure assets avoid probate. If our clients own real property in the State of California, we can prepare the deed transferring the real property into trust so it avoids probate. We are a small boutique firm which enables us to keep our prices very competitive and provide excellent customer service.
