Lucere Legal, Inc
5775 Wayzata Blvd, Ste 700
Lucere Legal, Inc is a twin cities based law firm serving clients throughout Minnesota with estate planning, wills and trusts, healthcare directives, power of attorney, probate administration, and trust administration. We are an award winning law firm - winner of the Star Tribune Reader's Choice Award in both Estates Law and Business Law in both 2021 and 2022.
We help families who have lost their loved ones with Minnesota probate administration. We work with personal representatives or executors for informal probate, formal unsupervised probate, formal supervised probate, and contested probate matters.
We work with Minnesota families with all aspects of estate planning. Some families need very simple planning, and others need more complex planning - especially when the family has a cabin, or a small business, or other assets that are not easily divided. We work with people to find the sweet spot where their situation and goals align, and create the right plan that will work when its needed most.
We work with families whose loved one has created a trust and that trust needs to be managed, or a family member successor trustee needs advice on how to properly manage the trust.
We work with families who have a beloved cabin that they want to keep in the family, and have future generations be able to enjoy the cabin without fighting over who gets to use it and when, who has to pay for it, and other tricky issues that can divide family members with shared ownership of property.
For many small business owners, their business is the largest asset in their estate and something they want to see continue after their retirement or death since they've put so much of themselves into building the business. We work with those business owners to do thoughtful advance planning that takes into account the needs of their family, the needs of their business, and the ways and means to have it all work when the time comes.
A family farm is not like other estate assets; it's part business (even if the land is rented out to others for crops) and it's part beloved homestead. Family farms also come with some real tax challenges as well as balancing inheritance between those who want the farm and those who don't after you're gone. We work with families with farms to make plans that keep the farm in the family while navigating all the challenges that are uniquely particular to family farm estates.
